CONTEST

The “Win the wedding of your dreams with La Distinction! is organized by La Distinction (the “Contest Organizers”). It takes place in Quebec from January 1, 2024 until December 31, 2024 at 5 p.m. (the “Contest Period”). The draw will be made on January 1, 2025.

This contest is open to anyone who has reached the age of 18. Employees of the Contest Organizers and suppliers of prizes related to this Contest, as well as members of their immediate families (children, father, mother), their legal or common-law spouse and all persons with whom these employees, agents and representatives are domiciled, are excluded. Also excluded from the contest are people who have already (before or after the duration of the contest) an engagement contract for a wedding at La Distinction.

To enter the contest, you must have confirmed your wedding reception (have signed the service contract with La Distinction) an event with La Distinction during the contest period.

The odds of participation are determined as follows:

• One wedding: 1 participation
• An additional contribution per $10,000 of product or service to La Distinction’s service contract before taxes, tips and administration fees

The prize consists of a credit in the form of payment to the service contract of up to $10,000 equivalent to the amount of food and drink of your wedding package. Only one prize to be won. Only food and beverage charges payable after discount, if applicable, can be credited, all other costs are excluded, including but not limited to room fees, suppliers, coordination services, catering fees, administration fees, gratuities, taxes, etc. If the winner’s wedding takes place prior to the draw, the credit will be refunded to the winner. If the winner’s wedding takes place after the draw, the winner cannot change his or her package unless he or she pays the difference.

On January 1, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., at the offices of La Distinction at 1505 Base-de-Roc Blvd. in Joliette, the Contest Organizers will randomly select one (1) eligible entry from among the entries registered in accordance with these Rules for the Prize.

Odds of winning the prize depend on the number of entries received during the Contest Period.

In order to be declared a winner, anyone selected for the prize must:

• Have attained the age of 18 years at the time of participation;
• Be contacted by email by the contest organizers within ten (10) days of the draw;
• Respond to the contact email from the contest organizers within 10 days of receipt.
• Complete and sign the Declaration and Release Form (the “Declaration Form”). The Declaration Form will be mailed, faxed or emailed to the selected person by the Contest Organizers and the selected person must return it duly completed and signed to the Contest Organizers within ten (10) days of receipt.

Failure to comply with any of the conditions mentioned above, or any other condition set out in these Rules, any person selected will be disqualified and a new draw for this prize may be conducted in accordance with these Rules until an entrant is selected and declared a winner.

Within two (2) weeks of receipt of the duly completed and signed declaration form, the Contest Organizers will inform the winner of the terms and conditions for taking possession of the prize.

All decisions of the Contest Organizers or their representatives regarding this Contest are final and cannot be appealed.

The contest organizers reserve the right to disqualify a person if he or she registers or attempts to enter this contest using a means that is contrary to these rules or that is likely to be unfair to other participants.

The prize must be accepted as described in these rules and may not, under any circumstances, be transferred, substituted for another prize in whole or in part, or exchanged in whole or in part for cash, except as provided in the following paragraph.

In the event that the contest organizers are unable to award the prize as described in these rules, they reserve the right to award a prize of the same nature and equivalent value or, at their sole discretion, the monetary value of the prize indicated in these rules.

Any person selected for the prize releases the contest organizers, their employees and representatives from any liability for any damages that they may suffer as a result of accepting or using their prize, including any tax consequences. In order to be declared a winner and prior to receiving their prize, each selected person agrees to sign a declaration form to this effect.

The Contest Organizers reserve the right at any time, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend, in whole or in part, this Contest in the event of an event or any human intervention that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, impartiality or conduct of the Contest as provided for in these Contest Rules.

In all cases, the Contest Organizers, their suppliers of prizes, materials and services related to this Contest, as well as their employees and representatives, may not be required to award more prizes than the number provided for in these Rules or to award a prize other than in accordance with these Rules.

By participating in this contest, each selected person authorizes the contest organizers and their representatives to use, if required, their name, photograph, image, declaration relating to the prize, place of residence for advertising purposes, without any form of compensation. A declaration to this effect will be included in the declaration form.

By participating or attempting to participate in this contest, any person releases the contest organizers, their employees and representatives from any liability for any damage that he or she may suffer as a result of his or her participation or attempted participation in the contest. The Contest Organizers assume no responsibility for any failure by a merchant to submit the Contest details.

Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of the prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

The personal information collected about entrants in connection with this Contest will only be used for the administration of this Contest. However, if the participant registers, his or her email address may be added to La Distinction’s email list so that he or she can receive newsletters or information on La Distinction’s various promotions.

The selected participant acknowledges that upon receipt of the letter confirming his/her prize, the execution of the services related to his/her prize becomes the sole and exclusive responsibility of the various service providers and/or event organizers. In order to be declared a winner and prior to receiving the prize, the selected participant agrees to sign a declaration to this effect on the declaration form.
